TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Three Taiwanese machinery makers shared smart manufacturing and automation applications at the Metalex expo forum in Bangkok, CNA reported.
The four-day event, running through Saturday, will see more than 3,000 brands from 50 countries. The expo highlights machine tools, robots, and factory automation.
The International Trade Administration, Precision Machinery Research & Development Center, and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council are showcasing local products at a booth called “Taiwan Select.”
The booth features Chi Zong Machine’s battery-powered hoists and winches for construction, logistics, and industrial maintenance. It also showcases Kent Industrial Co.’s automated, energy-saving surface grinders and Palmary Machinery’s CNC grinding solutions for aerospace and mold-making.
The administration said that Taiwan’s products highlight its strengths in precision machining and automation, attracting buyers worldwide.
At an expo forum, Tongtai Machine & Tool Chair Chung Chih-wei (鐘志偉) said the company has operated in Thailand for more than 30 years. Its machine tools and smart manufacturing technologies have boosted metalworking yields and cut labor needs, making it a key player in the country’s machinery supply chain.
Chung said the company equips its machines with sensors for current, temperature, pressure, and sound. Software analyzes the data to monitor machining conditions and automatically adjust operating speed.
Many global automakers are shifting supply chains out of China. Chung noted that Thailand’s robust heavy industry base is drawing international investment, with Taiwanese firms poised to play a key integrative role.
In March, the company partnered with Usun Technology to showcase automated material handling equipment, offering a solution for unmanned factories. The system targets advanced processes such as automotive electronics, servo boards, and ABF substrates, materials used in semiconductor packaging.
Tsai Chun-i (蔡鈞亦), a representative for Chi Zong Machine, added that global buyers are seeking Taiwan-made products, reflecting rising demand for China-free supply chains and giving Taiwanese products a competitive advantage.
