TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — MediaTek and Keysight Technologies have joined forces to develop Pre-6G Integrated Sensing and Communications technology, marking a major step toward 6G networks.
ISAC is a key technology for 6G, allowing devices to communicate and sense their surroundings using the same radio channel. Keysight said that even a small boost in spectral efficiency can deliver large capacity and cost savings, per CNA.
Mediatek Senior General Manager of Wireless Communication Technology and System Design Fan Ming-hsi (范明熙) said the company has integrated its MT2706 chip with a sparse radar resource model, per Anue. He said the effort combines Keysight’s network simulation tools with MediaTek’s 5G dynamic resource allocation technology to drive 6G innovation.
Keysight Vice President Tsao Peng (曹鵬) said the partnership underscores how industry cooperation is accelerating 6G research. He said combining complementary strengths allows the companies to build practical ISAC testing frameworks and turn concepts into solutions.
Tsao added that the collaboration with MediaTek shows how hardware and software can converge to advance wireless technologies. He said this model of partnership will be essential as the industry prepares for 6G adoption.
According to Nokia, 6G specifications will be finalized in 2028 and deployed in 2030.
