TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A delegation of 46 medical device companies and healthcare institutions is showcasing Taiwan’s latest smart healthcare innovations and highlighting the nation’s comprehensive industry chain from R&D to commercialization at the Medica expo in Germany.
The four-day expo, running through Thursday, features 5,000 exhibitors from more than 70 countries and is expected to attract over 80,000 visitors. This year’s event highlights medical technologies, healthcare IT solutions, laboratory equipment, and diagnostic testing, with organizers also hosting related forums and keynote presentations.
The delegation, led by the National Science and Technology Council and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, showcased Taiwan’s R&D, technology validation, and clinical applications at their booth. According to the council, three Taiwanese medical innovation projects were selected as finalists in the expo’s competition, standing out from over 480 global entries, per CNA.
Among the selected projects, Acrocyte Therapeutics combines cell culture technology with 3D modeling to create personalized models, offering a new approach to cancer care. Neurobit Technologies showcased its AI-powered NeuroSwift Pro system, which helps doctors detect brain conditions and generates diagnostic reports in real time.
FaceHeart Inc. was also selected with its AI-driven CardioMirror device, which features non-contact measurement of heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, and cardiovascular risk.
R&R Medical Technology Co. is showcasing its products in thermotherapy, pain relief, and nutritional supplements. Seven Hsinchu Science Park–based medical companies are also presenting technologies such as remote hearing testing equipment, lung imaging analysis software, and blood testing technologies. Among them, Brain Navi Biotechnology Co. demonstrated its brain surgery navigation technology, which automatically positions surgical instruments with less than 2 mm error.
The council added that before the expo, the delegation visited the headquarters of German optics and photonics manufacturer Zeiss, as well as German medical institutions, aiming to promote collaboration in smart healthcare, clinical validation, and medical data sharing.
