TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Tropical Storm Fung-wong is expected to make landfall in southern Taiwan on Tuesday evening and move out to sea from Taitung by early Wednesday.
Local governments are updating announcements on class and work suspensions. The following is an updated list of work and class status for Wednesday:
Northern Taiwan
All areas, including Greater Taipei, Keelung, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Hsinchu County, will continue with work and classes as usual.
Central Taiwan
Taichung, Miaoli County, Yunlin County, and Changhua County have canceled work and classes. Nantou County will continue with work and classes as usual.
Southern Taiwan
Work and classes are canceled in Chiayi County, Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung County. Chiayi has not issued a notice.
Eastern Taiwan
Hualien County will hold work and classes as usual, except for Guangfu, Wanrong, and Fenglin Townships. Taitung County will continue with work and classes as usual. Yilan County has not yet made an announcement.
Outlying Islands
Lienchiang County will continue with work and classes as usual, while Penghu County has canceled work and classes. Kinmen County has not announced a decision.
