TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Registration for the NT$10,000 (US$323) cash handout opened to all eligible recipients on Monday, with 4.97 million people signed up as of 11 a.m. and deposits due by Wednesday.
This year’s cash distribution offers five methods: pre-registration deposit, ATM withdrawal, post office collection, direct deposit, and manual disbursement. Online registration opened on Monday without restrictions based on ID or residence permit number, per CNA.
ATM withdrawals begin Nov. 17, and post office collections on Nov. 24. All collection channels close on April 30, 2026.
According to the Ministry of Finance, as of 11 a.m., 4,972,810 people had completed registration through the official website. Deposits will be made gradually from 6 p.m. Tuesday through Wednesday, depending on each bank’s schedule.
On Monday, the Legislative Yuan Finance Committee visited Financial Information Service Co. (FISC) to inspect the program. Treasury Administration Director-General Chen Pai-chen (陳柏誠) said those who registered between Nov. 5 and Monday and passed verification should receive funds on Wednesday.
DPP Legislator Lee Kuen-cheng (李坤城), the committee convener, asked whether a typhoon on Nov. 12 could delay payments. FISC Chair Lin Kuo-liang (林國良) said bank transfers will proceed as scheduled even if Taipei declares a holiday.
Lin added that between 9 and 10 million people are expected to receive the NT$10,000 payment on Wednesday.
The Cabinet’s Anti-Fraud Command Center warned the public about scams related to the payout, including fake government sites and messages about “account anomalies” or “verification” aimed at harvesting personal data or inducing ATM/online-banking operations.
Eligible recipients include Taiwanese nationals with household registration, non-registered nationals with residence permits, overseas government employees and their dependents, and newborns born in Taiwan before April 30, 2026. Foreigners with permanent residency and the spouses of Taiwanese nationals with residency permits are also eligible.
