TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan’s Inventec Appliances Corp. will build a factory in Vietnam to start manufacturing smart handheld devices next year, reports said Tuesday.
Inventec Appliances is a subsidiary of original design manufacturer Inventec Corp. The board of directors decided on a cash capital increase of NT$1.83 billion (US$60 million) in Inventec Technology (Vietnam) Co., Ltd., per CNA.
The cost for the new factory and necessary equipment would not exceed NT$1.72 billion, Inventec said. Mass production of smart handheld devices is scheduled to start in the second half of 2026.
Inventec produces laptops, tablets, and servers for global brands. The Taipei-based group also manufactures electronics for the car industry, as well as items used for 5G and AI products.
