TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan’s Ministry of Examination on Tuesday launched a new exam research center to improve the quality of national examinations, CNA reported.
Minister of Examination Liu Meng-chi (劉孟奇) said the center will help reform the testing system by aligning exams more closely with workplace competencies and needs.
According to the ministry, the center was established on Aug. 1 and held its opening ceremony on Tuesday. The event was attended by Examination Yuan President Chou Hung-hsien (周弘憲), Vice President Hsu Shu-hsiang (許舒翔), and several Examination Committee members.
Chou said a dedicated research institution will improve test design and accuracy, adding that Taiwan’s exam system is moving toward science-based, professional standards.
Hsu said the center will support both civil service and professional licensing exams by providing research data and policy advice, keeping Taiwan’s exam reforms innovative.
The ministry said the launch marks a new era of institutionalized testing research, enhancing national exams and improving public service quality.
According to CNA, frequent turnover among government functionaries has become increasingly common. Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) has previously met with Examination Yuan officials to discuss the issue.
