TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Kaohsiung is is in the pink this week as Blackpink returns for concerts on Saturday and Sunday.
The shows mark the first stop of Blackpink's Asia tour and sets the record for the first girl group to perform twice at Kaohsiung National Stadium, per CNA. Their 2023 concert drew more than 250,000 Kaohsiung Metro trips in a single day, surpassing New Year’s travel numbers.
To welcome fans from around the world, Kaohsiung City Government is lighting up six landmarks in pink, including: Love River, Great Harbor Bridge, Kaohsiung Port Cruise Terminal, Kaohsiung Music Center, Kaohsiung Station, and Formosa Boulevard Station. They will be illuminated from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. nightly for seven consecutive days.
In addition to NT$50 (US$1.63) night market coupons redeemable with concert tickets, participating shopping districts, night markets, department stores, and other businesses are offering discounts and special activities. They can be redeemed over the weekend at MRT Zuoying, Formosa Boulevard, Arena, Kaohsiung, Sanduo Shopping District, and Yanchengpu stations.
Kaohsiung shopping centers, including Dream Mall, SKM Park, Hanshin Arena Shopping Plaza, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, Kaohsiung Far Eastern Department Store, Talee Department Store, SOGO, and E-Da Theme Park, are offering concert ticket holders discounts, vouchers, and counter-exclusive deals.
SKM Park is hosting a Rose pop-up store Sunday, featuring T-shirts, pink and red phone cases, and merchandise from the singer’s “APT.” collection. Items include baseball caps, T-shirts, and rock-themed keychains.
