TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — 7-Eleven and FamilyMart set new September revenue records, fueled by back-to-school shopping and early Mid-Autumn Festival demand.
Uni-President Enterprises, parent of 7-Eleven, reported consolidated September revenue of NT$58.41 billion (US$1.9 billion), up 0.97% year-on-year and a record for the month, per CNA.
7-Eleven said its September revenue reached NT$29.17 billion, up 1.56% from last year, setting a new high, per UDN. Revenue for the first nine months totaled NT$260.95 billion, up 3.64% year-on-year, supported by store expansion and strong sales of fresh food and festive gifts.
The company attributed higher foot traffic and spending to back-to-school shopping and the early Mid-Autumn Festival. Investments in Starbucks and Cosmed also contributed to overall revenue growth.
Meanwhile, FamilyMart posted September revenue of NT$9.2 billion, up 2.49% year-on-year, also a record for the month. Revenue for the first nine months totaled NT$81.22 billion, up 3.53% from a year earlier, with the chain operating 4,411 stores as of Sept. 30, a net increase of 123 stores from a year ago.
Looking ahead, both chains expect strong October sales around the Mid-Autumn Festival, Double Ten Day, and Retrocession Day holidays. 7-Eleven plans new seasonal coffee and tea and enhanced e-commerce services, while FamilyMart will launch autumn and winter products to meet demand.
