TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The military will hold the first Lu Sheng exercise next month.
It is a restructured version of the former Chang-series drills and will be held in northern Taiwan from Oct. 25–31, Liberty Times reported. Modeled after recent Han Kuang exercises, it will adopt an intensive, round-the-clock format.
The former Chang-series exercises — Chang Tai, Chang Sheng, and Chang Qing — were force-on-force training conducted at the brigade level by Army and Marine ground units.
The military has unified command under the Army Education, Training, and Doctrine Development Command and renamed the drills Lu Sheng. Although Lu Sheng differs in name and oversight, its essence remains the same: two brigade-level units mobilizing to conduct force-on-force training.
