TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — More than 120 Taiwanese companies opened their booths at EMO Hannover on Monday, with industry leaders highlighting AI-driven manufacturing and supply chain strength.
The trade show, billed as the world’s largest of its kind, marks its 50th edition with the theme “Innovative Manufacturing,” per CNA. This year’s focus includes AI, automation, and carbon-reduction solutions, drawing exhibitors and buyers from around the globe.
At the Taiwan pavilion, Taiwan External Trade Development Council Chair Huang Chih-fang (黃志芳) hosted an international press conference on AI and machine tools.
Huang said Taiwan remains one of EMO’s top four foreign exhibitors, reflecting the industry’s global stature. He noted firms are moving beyond hardware toward AI and automation, with support from the government and TAITRA helping them expand market reach.
Industry representatives said small and medium-sized enterprises are deploying AI to stay competitive. Wei Yu-cheng (魏煜成) said retrofitting older machines with sensors allows real-time performance monitoring and better precision while cutting maintenance costs.
Across the exhibition halls, Taiwanese companies displayed their latest innovations, confident that “Made in Taiwan” can withstand trade challenges while building deeper connections in global markets.
This year’s EMO features more than 1,600 exhibitors from 45 countries. EMO General Commissioner Carl Martin said expectations are high even as global conditions challenge business ambitions.
