TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Gibson Kanai, speaker of Palau’s House of Delegates, arrived in Taiwan on Sunday for a six-day visit.
During the trip, Kanai will meet senior government officials and lawmakers, tour historic and cultural sites, and learn about Taiwan’s achievements in smart cities and clean energy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
He will also attend banquets hosted by Deputy Legislative Speaker Johnny Chiang (江啟臣) and Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍).
MOFA said Taiwan and Palau have long enjoyed collaboration in healthcare, agriculture, education, and sustainable tourism. Under Lin’s “comprehensive diplomacy,” the ministry has been promoting the Diplomatic Allies Prosperity Project in Palau to strengthen bilateral cooperation and friendship.
