TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan Railway Corp. announced Tuesday that train services on the North Link Line, South Link Line, and Taitung Line will remain partially or fully suspended until 6 p.m. due to heavy rainfall and lingering effects from Typhoon Ragasa.
On the North Link Line, full-route service is suspended. Trains 420, 421, and 426 are canceled, while remaining services will operate only as far as Yilan, Luodong, or Suaoxin stations.
On the South Link Line, trains 431, 313, and 317 from Xinzuoying to Taitung are canceled, with train 165 operating only to Chaozhou. On the return route from Taitung to Xinzuoying, trains 308, 314, 422, 708, and 324 (Hualien–Tainan segment) are canceled, while trains 168 (Chaozhou–Qidu) and 386 (Chaozhou–Taichung) will operate as scheduled.
Regional and express services between Taitung and Fangliao, including trains 5898 and 5899, are also suspended.
On the Taitung Line, trains from Taitung to Hualien, including 423, 477, 431, 283, 439, and 441, are suspended, as are return services from Hualien to Taitung, including 422, 424, 324, 428, 232, and 432. TRC said it will continue monitoring weather conditions and conducting route inspections, adjusting train schedules as needed.
