TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan High Speed Rail will operate all services on schedule Tuesday as Typhoon Ragasa approaches.
The Central Weather Administration issued sea and land warnings Monday as the storm moved closer to Taiwan. THSR said trains can run safely tomorrow based on the latest forecasts, per CNA.
The company warned, however, that strong winds and heavy rain are still possible. It urged residents near rail lines to secure signs, scaffolding, and tarps, which could fly off and threaten train safety.
Passengers with tickets dated during the sea warning period may apply for a full refund without service charges within one year, regardless of whether they boarded or if service was disrupted or canceled.
The company added that delays caused by speed restrictions during the typhoon will not qualify for delay compensation under its passenger rules.
