TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — More than 1,000 electric scooters joined Kaohsiung’s first night-ride event, cruising along the harbor in an evening spectacle.
The event began at 4 p.m. at Kaohsiung Port, marking the first southern Taiwan edition, per CNA. Gogoro encouraged participants to rent GoShare scooters to experience riding in a massive convoy.
The convoy traveled along Penglai Road and Wufu Bridge, finishing at the Kaohsiung Port Cruise Terminal for a group photo. Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai (陳其邁) joined the ride and joked afterward that he was inspired to buy a scooter himself.
Beyond the ride, Gogoro hosted a “Kaohsiung Adventure” stamp-collection activity, live performances by Golden Melody singers, banquet-style parties, and a local food market.
In Q2, Gogoro’s operating cash flow rose to NT$459 million (US$15.2 million), up from NT$145 million in the first half of 2024, per Liberty Times. The company projects its energy business will break even next year and its vehicle operations will reach profitability by 2028.
