TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Taiwan Expo 2025 has opened at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, the Philippines, showcasing more than 140 Taiwanese companies and deepening cooperation between Taiwan and the Philippines.
The Taiwan External Trade Development Council and the International Trade Administration organized the expo around four themes: green and sustainability, agritech and aquatech, health and wellness, and smart technology. Exhibits include cold-chain logistics, AI health tools, remote monitoring devices, and other innovations aimed at promoting industrial collaboration.
TAITRA Chairperson James Huang (黃志芳) said the event comes amid global supply-chain shifts that create opportunities for Taiwan and the Philippines to expand cooperation, per CNA.
Chow Minn-gan (周民淦), representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, said, “Taiwan Expo 2025 in the Philippines is more than a showcase of products — it is a vital platform for strengthening business connections, aligning policies, and deepening industrial collaboration.”
Trade between Taiwan and the Philippines reached US$6.71 billion in 2024. Taiwan is currently the Philippines’ 10th-largest trading partner, with trade growing more than 8% in the first half of 2025, per CNA.
The return of the Taiwan Expo after six years highlights Taiwan’s effort to strengthen links with ASEAN economies while giving the Philippines greater access to Taiwanese technology and investment.
