TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The biannual Taipei Aerospace and Defense Technology Exhibition will be held from Sept. 18 to Sept. 20 at the Nangang Exhibition Center.
This year's TADTE will mark the largest defense industry exhibition ever held in Taiwan. Organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, the event will feature 490 different exhibitors from 14 different countries, with over 1,400 individual booths.
At the National Defense Pavilion, the Ministry of National Defense will showcase several new pieces of military technology, including M1A2T Abrams tanks recently acquired from the US, and the HIMARS mobile rocket launcher platforms. The new domestically produced D3 armored vehicle equipped with a 105mm gun will also be on display, reported CNA.
The MND’s Armaments Bureau will unveil two new drone models, including a bomber drone and a suicide drone, per CNA. New unmanned surface vehicle technology developed by the National Chung-Shan Institute of Technology will also be on display.
The TADTE’s theme is “Future Defense, Boundless Innovation.” A major focus is the integration of traditional weapons systems with unmanned vehicles and advances in aviation technology.
Admission is free, but online registration prior to the event is required for entry. Members of the general public are welcome to visit the expo on Saturday.
