During a signing ceremony held simultaneously in London and Taipei via live link, Taiwan’s envoy to the UK Vincent Yao (姚金祥) and the British representative in Taiwan Ruth Bradley-Jones signed the “Taiwan-UK Memorandum of Understanding on the Semiconductor Joint Skills Project.”
The agreement will promote mutual exchanges and talent development in the semiconductor industry, according to a press release form the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Deputy Foreign Minister Wu Chih-chung (吳志中) and advisor to the UK Secretary of State for Science, Innovation, and Technology Dave Smith. A UK delegation from the Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology that was in Taiwan for the Semicon Taiwan expo was also in attendance.
