TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan’s pavilion at the Medical Fair Thailand in Bangkok is featuring AI-powered medical devices and smart healthcare tech from 112 businesses and organizations, making it the expo’s second-largest exhibitor.
The three-day event drew attendees from over 40 countries and around 1,000 companies, per CNA. This year, Thailand hosts the event, with several Taiwan companies making an appearance.
Smart healthcare and medical equipment manufacturers dominated the Taiwan Pavilion, showcasing the country’s diverse medical supply chain.
Surglasses CEO Wang Min-liang (王民良) demonstrated a surgical navigation system with mixed reality smart glasses. He said the technology allows surgeons to confirm incision location and depth in real time, reducing the time previously needed to verify spinal positions.
Products targeting aging populations also drew attention, including Alpha Intelligence Manifolds’ AI diagnostic system for degenerative arthritis and Imedtac’s smart medicine cabinet. The cabinet monitors medication usage and generates automatic reports for hospitals.
Taiwan External Trade Development Council, TAITRA, said the expo rotates annually between Singapore and Thailand and is one of Southeast Asia’s most influential medical industry events. Last year’s Singapore edition drew over 10,000 visitors from 60 countries.
TAITRA Strategic Marketing Department Director Li Wen-chen (李文鉦) said Taiwan values Thailand as a hub for Southeast Asia expansion. He noted the country leads in healthcare and medical tourism, making it ideal for collaboration.
