TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Acer’s European subsidiary Enfinitec is exploring AI and automation to boost repair efficiency while reducing the staff burden.
Established in 2023, Enfinitec focuses on after-sales service covering IT products and home appliances, per CNA. The company leverages Acer’s PC technology expertise to expand services across Europe.
Enfinitec’s Wroclaw facility in southwestern Poland is considered the heart of Acer’s European after-sales operations. The 20,000 square meter site also serves as a spare parts distribution hub, shipping to 80 countries.
The company handles up to 2.5 million repairs annually and is exploring AI for smarter diagnostics and repair sorting. Enfinitec CEO Tobi Musson said robotic arms remain challenging due to product diversity, but AI and imaging systems offer potential.

The new technologies aim to improve efficiency without staff increases. Enfinitec plans to expand existing locations rather than opening new centers, adding repair capacity on-site.
Enfinitec uses a hybrid operational model to balance speed and cost. Time-sensitive in-warranty repairs are handled locally to meet strict retailer deadlines, while cost-sensitive refurbishments are centralized in Wroclaw for efficiency.
Different product lines bring unique challenges. PC motherboards require precision, robotic vacuums often need cleaning, and heavy electric scooters require specialized lifting equipment for safe handling.
The company processes items from 1,500 brands each year, reflecting the rise of repair and refurbishment, especially among younger consumers. Musson said extending product lifecycles is a key driver of circular economy growth in after-sales services.
Regarding a potential IPO, Musson confirmed it remains an option, aligning with Acer Chair Chen Chun-sheng’s (陳俊聖) strategy of incubating new businesses and pursuing public listings in Taiwan.
