TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Kenting has been ranked No. 5 on Agoda’s top eight rural destinations in Asia for 2025.
Agoda compiled the list based on accommodation search volumes between Feb. 25 and Aug. 15, focusing on destinations across eight Asian markets with populations under 50,000, Liberty Times reported.
Kenting is famous for its white sandy beaches and rich marine biodiversity. It also has forested landscapes. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of water activities or explore Kenting National Park to take in its coastal scenery.
Industry analysts said the ranking underscores Kenting’s status as a top holiday destination for both domestic and international travelers, while also reflecting Taiwan’s growing profile in Asia’s alternative travel market.
Topping the list was Malaysia’s Cameron Highlands, followed by Thailand’s Khao Yai National Park and Puncak Pass in Indonesia. Japan’s Lake Kawaguchi placed fourth.
Other destinations include: Sapa, Vietnam; Munnar, India; and Pyeongchang County, South Korea.
