TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Central Weather Administration forecast that temperatures across Taiwan will exceed 34 C from Friday to Saturday.
Temperatures in the north are expected to range from 26 C to 36 C, while central and southern regions will see 25 C to 34 C. Eastern areas and outlying islands are forecast to fall between 26 C and 34 C. The UV index across Taiwan will reach high to extreme levels.
Most areas of Taiwan will see sunny to partly cloudy skies on Friday, with isolated afternoon showers in mountainous regions. From Saturday to Tuesday, the north will be partly cloudy with afternoon thunderstorms, while the south and southeast may experience brief showers, per CNA.
Temperatures across Taiwan will drop slightly from Saturday to Tuesday. In the north, temperatures will range from 26 C to 33 C, while central, southern, and eastern regions will see temperatures between 25 C and 32 C.
Typhoon Peipah is forecast to affect southwestern Japan from Thursday to Friday, but will not impact Taiwan, the administration said.
A new typhoon is expected to form over the waters east of the Philippines on Sunday. Its path will move toward southeastern China. While the storm is not expected to directly impact Taiwan, it may bring rainfall to the nation.
