TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — More than 320,000 Filipino travelers visited Taiwan in the first half of this year, Chen Yi-ting (陳憶婷), director of the Taiwan Tourism Administration’s Service Office in Manila, said recently.
Chen said 322,010 Filipinos visited between January and June for purposes including tourism, business, and family visits, per CNA. They ranked first among Southeast Asian countries in visitor numbers.
She attributed the growth to Taiwan’s visa-free entry program for Filipinos and active tourism promotion, which have helped make Taiwan one of the top destinations for Philippine travelers.
Chen highlighted Taiwan’s convenient transportation, Michelin- and Bib Gourmand-recommended restaurants, diverse shopping options, and the warmth and hospitality of Taiwanese as key attractions.
Last year, 476,700 Filipinos visited Taiwan.
