TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Saint Lucia Deputy Prime Minister and Tourism Minister Ernest Hilaire arrived in Taiwan on Monday for bilateral talks.
This is Hilaire’s second visit to Taiwan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. During his five-day trip, he will meet with President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) and Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍). He will also engage with Ministry of Culture officials and visit the Kaohsiung Port Cruise Terminal to learn about the cruise industry.
Hilaire is accompanied by Saint Lucia Commerce Minister Emma Hippolyte and Equity Minister Joachim Andre Henry.
Since the resumption of diplomatic relations in 2007, Taiwan and Saint Lucia have enjoyed a close partnership, MOFA said. The two countries have cooperated in tourism, trade, healthcare, and other areas.
MOFA added it will “continue to deepen bilateral engagement across sectors to enhance the well-being of both peoples.”
