TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan Railways Corporation is recruiting mechanical vehicle maintenance inspectors and locomotive controllers.

Recruitment is open from Aug. 16 to 30, TRC said in a press release. Candidates must take a written exam on Oct. 18 and an oral exam on Nov. 22.

The exams will cover mechanical and electrical engineering to improve railway transportation safety and technical capabilities, TRC said.

The company plans to hire 40 mechanical vehicle maintenance inspectors, with 72 alternates, assigned to maintenance offices in Qidu, Hualien, Taitung, and Taipei. It will also hire two locomotive controllers, with four alternates, for the Operations Control Division.

TRC said the starting monthly salary for grade eight assistant engineers is NT$45,130, rising to NT$59,210. Grade nine technician salaries start at NT$42,580 and reach up to NT$55,660.

The company said it offers promotion pathways and professional training to support long-term career development for skilled technical personnel.
