TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan’s Fourth Operations Command conducted a heavy artillery live-fire exercise in Pingtung on Wednesday.
Army soldiers from the 43rd Artillery Command, 564th Armored Brigade, and Taitung Area Command were evaluated on training effectiveness and combat readiness, Military News Agency reported.
During the exercise, troops practiced step-by-step firing procedures and honed command and control abilities. The goal was to strengthen firepower coordination and overall combat capability.
Twenty-six artillery pieces were deployed, including M110A2 and M109A2 self-propelled Howitzers and 155mm towed Howitzers. Troops conducted four major drills: test firing, area firing, high-angle firing, and zero-level calibration.
The exercise tested equipment performance and improved operational proficiency, bolstering overall defensive strength, the command said.
