TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Win Home Technology Co., a Yunlin-based maker of water heaters, tanks, and pumps, has introduced smart production lines to improve efficiency and product yield.
General Manager Wang Mao-ling (王茂陵) said that before adopting smart manufacturing, the company faced challenges such as inconsistent welding times across different equipment, which left machines idle. Welding data was also recorded manually, leading to frequent errors, per CNA.
To address these issues and improve sustainability, the company applied for funding and technical guidance from the Ministry of Economic Affairs to conduct a carbon inventory of its production lines. The support enabled it to establish carbon emission data for its processes.
The company also received a government subsidy to build an integrated production line for thermal storage water tanks. The project includes automated welding and an AI-powered visual recognition system to enhance operations.
With smart technologies, Win Home achieved greater standardization and efficiency. An integrated alert system connects to quality control, allowing staff to inspect production lines when errors occur, improving process efficiency by up to 15%.
Wang said the company’s clients include hospitals and hotels, for which it provides 24-hour water supply systems. Around-the-clock operations and maintenance support give it a competitive edge.
The company has secured contracts with major corporations by offering integrated solutions to manage fluctuating water use between peak and off-peak periods. It has also deployed energy-saving systems combining solar power, heat pumps, and boilers to help clients cut water and electricity costs.
Wang urged the government to continue offering tax breaks and subsidies for smart manufacturing equipment to help small and medium-sized enterprises upgrade and adapt to US tariffs.
