TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Starlux Airlines is allying with American Airlines to put 250 North American cities within closer reach of Taiwanese travelers, reports said Friday.
Starlux said the agreement would deepen its network of destinations in the US, while also making flying to Asia more convenient for travelers from North America, per CNA.
Buying just one ticket allows Starlux passengers flying from Taiwan to have their luggage go right through to final destinations including New York, Boston, Chicago, and Miami, the airline said on its Facebook page.
Once the airline starts direct flights to Phoenix on Jan. 15, the two networks will integrate even further, according to Starlux. As the capital of Arizona is a major hub for American Airlines in the southwestern US, Starlux has arranged for its flights from Taiwan to arrive in Phoenix at suitable times for their passengers to catch connecting flights.
Starlux will fly Airbus A350-900 aircraft between Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and Phoenix on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays from Jan. 15 to Feb. 28. Starting in March, a fourth weekly flight will be added on Saturdays.
