TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — CHT Security Co., a cybersecurity firm, reported first-half revenue of NT$980 million (US$30.62 million), up 14% year-on-year and a record for the same period.
The company, more than 60% owned by Chunghwa Telecom, held a press conference on Wednesday to announce its results. Earnings per share reached NT$6.01, a 12% increase from last year, per CNA.
CHT Security Chair Hung Chin-fu (洪進福) said revenue from internet security services for individual users reached NT$280 million, up 15% year-on-year, while services for government agencies and enterprises generated NT$540 million, a 10% increase.
Cybersecurity product revenue totaled NT$160 million, up 28%, with more than half coming from long-term contracts that carry higher profit margins. Self-developed products include SecuTex Network Protection, which analyzes internet traffic for suspicious activity; CypherCom, an encrypted communication system; and Horuseyes, a tool that assesses IP and domain security. Revenue from these products rose 33% year-on-year.
Hung said overseas revenue surged 250% in the first half, adding that continued growth in revenue and profit has positioned the company to go public in September.
The company said it will continue investing in AI technology and cloud-based cybersecurity services, and expand into areas such as cybersecurity for drones and low Earth orbit satellites.
