TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan will bolster complementary cooperation with the US amid trade negotiations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a report on Wednesday.
The ministry said it will continue to convey to the Trump administration that Taiwan is an indispensable partner in helping the US revitalize its manufacturing sector and consolidate its global leadership in artificial intelligence, CNA reported. It added that bilateral cooperation will be enhanced in technology, energy, manufacturing supply chains, and economic security.
MOFA also stressed its commitment to ensuring Taiwanese businesses have a fair, competitive environment in the US market, while securing advantages for industries expanding globally.
The ministry highlighted America’s consistent support for Taiwan’s security, noting the government maintains communication channels with Washington and engages in close, constructive interactions to address shared challenges.
MOFA said the Trump administration has maintained a clear stance on strengthening deterrence against China and safeguarding Indo-Pacific security, while repeatedly underscoring the importance of peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
