TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Lieutenant General Lee Ting-chung (李定中), director of the All-out Defense Mobilization Agency, on Tuesday led agency personnel and officials from relevant ministries to inspect Taipower’s power plant and CPC Corporation’s fuel supply center in Taichung.
At the Taipower plant, Lee received a briefing on Taiwan’s preparedness for oil, gas, electricity, and coal mobilization, Military News Agency reported. He then visited CPC’s fuel supply center to observe a mobilization preparedness drill simulating emergency fuel allocation and contingency measures.
Lee said Taiwan’s Material and Economic Mobilization Preparedness Plan must balance civilian needs with national defense requirements and follow four core principles: maintaining normal government operations, ensuring people’s basic needs, providing appropriate military support, and avoiding interference with military tasks.
He added that the visits aimed to assess the mobilization plan from planning through implementation. Lee urged all ministries and agencies involved to establish standard operating procedures during peacetime, safeguard key primary and backup facilities, and refine emergency response mechanisms based on expert recommendations.
