TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — "Zero Day Attack," a long-awaited television series depicting a potential invasion of Taiwan by China, is set to air this week and will be available on multiple streaming platforms.
In a theatrical trailer released last month, production company Zero Day Cultural and Creative revealed that the first episode will air on Saturday, Aug. 2, in Taiwan. It will be broadcast on the PTS television network at 7 p.m., and available on MyVideo, MOD, HamiVideo, and Line TV as episodes are released.
International audiences will need to wait until mid-August. The series will stream on Amazon Prime Video Japan starting Aug. 15, and on Catchplay beginning Aug. 16.
The 10-episode miniseries was first announced in 2024 and initially expected to premiere in early 2025. One episode was screened at the Copenhagen Democracy Summit in May.
The series was originally titled in English as "Zero Day," but has been renamed "Zero Day Attack" to differentiate it from other media properties with similar names.
"Zero Day Attack" was produced in Taiwan with support from the Ministry of National Defense. Set in 2028 after Taiwan’s next presidential election, each episode presents a different facet of Taiwan’s response—and the lives of ordinary citizens—during a hypothetical blockade, attack, and invasion by communist Chinese forces.
Each episode is directed by a different filmmaker, offering varied perspectives on the unfolding crisis. The production budget was reported to be NT$230 million (US$7 million).
