TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Industrial Technology Research Institute launched MedBobi 2.0 on Monday, an AI-powered platform designed to ease the administrative load on frontline healthcare workers.
Partnering with Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, Chung Shan Medical University Hospital, and others, ITRI said the upgraded platform slashes routine task times from 30 minutes to just three, marking a shift from paperwork to clinical decision-making, per CNA.
Chuang Yao-yu (莊曜宇), ITRI Vice President and head of its biomedical research labs, said the new tool builds on last year’s release of MedBobi voice assistant, which has already been adopted by hospitals across Taiwan.
The 2.0 version integrates clinical voice data, like capturing medical terminology, tone, and scenarios, through an open platform customized for frontline needs. Its AI-enhanced capabilities include real-time speech recognition and instant responses.
By minimizing time spent on documentation and routine communications, MedBobi 2.0 allows staff to focus more on patient care. It also improves judgment accuracy and supports smarter, faster clinical workflows, per TechNews.
Chuang said the platform is available to all hospitals and long-term care centers in Taiwan. He added that the goal is to improve service quality and create a more efficient healthcare system.
