TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Tigerair Taiwan said Monday it is recruiting commercial pilots and airport staff with competitive starting salaries in response to growing passenger numbers and an expanding fleet.
The airline will offer a starting monthly pay of NT$120,000 (US$4,000) for pilots and NT$34,000 for ground crew, per CNA. Tigerair said the hiring aligns with its ongoing fleet renewal and expansion plans.
Applications for ground staff are open through July 30, per UDN. Candidates must hold a university degree and have a TOEIC score of at least 550. Conversational Japanese or Korean is considered a plus. About 30 positions will be filled based at Taoyuan International Airport.
Duties include check-in, gate, and customer service, with staff also supporting operations for other airlines. New hires will begin training in phases after October.
Pilot applications will be accepted from Aug. 9 to Sept. 6. Applicants must be Taiwanese nationals with a college degree, a commercial pilot license issued by the US Federal Aviation Administration, Taiwan’s Civil Aviation Administration, or International Civil Aviation Organization, and at least 250 hours of flight time.
An English proficiency certificate issued within the last two years is also required. Selected candidates will enter the recruitment process in Q4 and are expected to report for duty early next year.
