TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Army’s 4th Regional Support Command practiced battlefield emergency repairs on a Humvee in Tainan on Thursday.
When the Humvee from the 564th Armored Brigade broke down in Xinhua District, a request for additional repair support was promptly filed in adherence to protocol, CNA reported. Upon receiving the report, the command quickly dispatched a forward repair team and a recovery vehicle. After confirming the vehicle could not be repaired on-site quickly, the team immediately towed it away using a crane.
During the towing and repair process, the military took into account potential enemy threats on the battlefield — such as attacks by enemy special forces or artillery strikes — and deployed soldiers to provide security.
On Nangan Island, the Matsu Defense Command carried out a combat drill simulating enemy forces breaking through coastal defenses. Troops rapidly moved to key positions and made use of the island’s terrain, tunnels, and fortifications to establish a defense perimeter. The drill aimed to preserve combat power and rehearse resupply operations.
The drills are part of the Han Kuang 41 live-fire exercise, which is on its ninth day.
