TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Peter McMullin, president of the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI), visited the organization's Secretariat in Taipei on Monday.
McMullin's visit focused on coordinating efforts for his official trip to Melbourne in Australia, scheduled for Sept. 1-4, and advancing promotional plans for the 39th CACCI Conference in Sri Lanka, which will be held Nov. 10-11 in Colombo.
During meetings with the CACCI Secretariat, McMullin reviewed outreach strategies and event logistics. To mark the occasion, the Secretariat hosted a luncheon at Fujin Tree Taiwanese Cuisine & Champagne, bringing together prominent members of Taiwan’s business community.
Guests included Henry Kao (高志尚), CACCI vice president and honorary chair of the Chinese International Economic Cooperation Council (CIECA); Ambassador John Feng (馮寄台), chair of CACCI’s Budget Commission; Harvey Chang (張孝威), a member of the CACCI Advisory Board; Thomas Wu (吳東亮), chair of the Chinese National Association of Industry and Commerce (CNAIC); and Frank Wu (吳立民), secretary-general of CIECA.
Later in the day, Kao arranged a courtesy meeting between McMullin and Ambassador Francois Wu (吳志中), representative at large from Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting explored opportunities to expand regional business collaboration through CACCI and to deepen ties between Taiwan and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
McMullin’s visit underscores CACCI’s continued efforts to strengthen private sector engagement and promote cross-border economic cooperation across its member countries.
