TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Louisa Coffee on Wednesday approved a NT$592 million (US$20.5 million) plan to build a headquarters in New Taipei as part of its expansion strategy.
The facility will be built on a 577-ping (one ping is 3.3 square meters) plot in Xinzhuang District, featuring a nine-story building with two basement levels, per CNA. The facility will include a test kitchen and logistics center to streamline operations, per MoneyDJ.
The coffee chain said the new office will be a key part of its growth strategy, providing the infrastructure needed to scale up its business. Its finances revealed a slight dip in revenue last year to NT$2.39 billion, down 1.04% from the previous year, but still the second-highest annual total in company history, per TVBS.
Louisa posted a record gross margin of 46.27% despite global coffee price volatility, though earnings per share fell to NT$4.64. Louisa Chair Huang Ming-hsien (黃銘賢) said the company is aiming for double-digit growth this year by integrating multi-brand sales and expanding its food business.
Founded in 2006, Louisa Coffee has grown into one of Taiwan’s largest coffee chains, operating more than 500 locations. The company has diversified its offerings in recent years, launching new food brands and expanding into ready-to-eat meals and bakery products.
