TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The Tainan City Government has launched a tourism promotion campaign in metro stations in the South Korean cities of Seoul and Daegu, reports said Wednesday
Displays emphasized the beauty of the four seasons with the slogan “Welcome to Truly Tainan.” The city emphasized that more than one million South Koreans visited Taiwan in 2024, with the total for January-March 2025 exceeding 310,000, per CNA.
Tainan can also meet the interests of South Koreans for personalized travel, relaxation, and in-depth experiences, the city said. The billboards appeared at busy locations on platforms inside metro stations, with four pictures representing the seasons, different moments of the day, and the city and countryside. A QR code links up with Korean-language information about sights, accommodation, food, and transportation.
A team from the city government will attend one of South Korea’s largest summer events, the Daegu Chimac Festival, known for its chicken and beer. The July 2-6 event would feature a Tainan food promotion area with souvenirs, foods, and information about the city.
