TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — McDonald's Taiwan is launching a peanut butter Oreo McFlurry, made with Tainan No. 14 peanuts, and offering a buy-one-get-one-free promotion through Sunday.
The dessert features a base of milk ice cream and peanut butter, topped with crushed Oreo cookies for a crispy crunch.
During the promotion, customers who purchase the ice cream will receive a free pack of Oreo mini chocolate vanilla sandwich cookies. A limited quantity of 500,000 packs is available while supplies last.
Peanuts are a common ingredient in everyday Taiwanese snacks and carry a strong sense of nostalgia. Rich in protein, the Tainan No. 14 peanut is a variety developed by the Tainan Agricultural Research and Extension Station. It is well-suited for direct consumption, making peanut butter, cooking, and oil extraction.
In other deals, customers who purchase any McDonald’s meal set from Friday through the weekend will receive a free cheeseburger and small fries.
Through the weekend, special offers are available via the McDonald’s ordering app, including a spicy chicken burger with medium fries for NT$99 (US$3.2) and four−piece Chicken McNuggets for NT$29. Until July 15, the app also offers buy-one-get-one-free deals on large fries, hash browns, spicy McWings, and honey milk tea.
From July to September 2024, McDonald's served up the pearl milk tea McFlurry. The dessert blends Taiwan's Ruby Black Tea with milk ice cream, topped with tapioca pearls and crushed cookies.
McDonald's previously introduced the cocoa brownie McFlurry from May to July 2024. The snack mixed chocolate brownies with milk ice cream, topped with cocoa powder and crushed cookies, creating a bittersweet flavor.
