TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport expects a 9.5% increase in passenger traffic this summer, with total figures projected to surpass pre-pandemic levels, reports said Tuesday.
As of June 4, the airport had already recorded 20 million passengers for the year, per CNA. July and August are expected to bring an additional 8.53 million travelers, slightly exceeding the 8.52 million recorded during the same period in 2019, according to Taoyuan International Airport Corporation.
Passenger traffic for the year to date has reached 96.5% of the same period in 2019, the last full year before the COVID-19 pandemic.
The airport reminded travelers to check the validity of their passports and review the latest flight information in advance. Passengers are also advised to follow rules regarding the transport of batteries, liquids, and sharp objects, and to arrive at the airport at least three hours before departure.
