TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A new culinary destination, Purebread Bakery’s sister brand Sbread Cafe, has opened in Taipei’s Zhongshan District, embracing the philosophy that “good food should be shared.”
Sbread’s name, derived from “spread,” reflects both the joy of sharing and the variety of spreads on offer. The brand emphasized its mission to share happiness by making everything from scratch with care and intention.
Unlike establishments that rely on pre-made components, Sbread Cafe uses traditional methods, from long fermentation processes for bread to slow stewing for fillings. Over 95% of its ingredients are homemade, offering an authentic, wholesome experience for those seeking fresh and trustworthy food. The brand’s logo, inspired by the oven spring in European bread, symbolizes its dedication to artisanal baking.
The restaurant is divided into two zones: a grab-and-go area on the ground floor and a spacious upstairs dining space. The ground floor offers freshly baked breads, along with quick made-to-order croissant sandwiches.
Croissant sandwiches come in four flavors, including classic ham and cheese and savory mentaiko smoked salmon. Guests can also choose among milk toast, sourdough, or crispy toast to pair with house-made spreads like mixed berry and caramelized butter, or premium olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Upstairs, a bright and airy dining space provides a relaxed setting for brunch. Menu offerings include breakfast plates with homemade breads and premium proteins, open-faced sandwiches with creative flavor combinations, classic eggs Benedict, and American-style sandwich sets.
The menu also features refreshing yogurt bowls and freshly blended fruit smoothies, rounding out a healthy and satisfying brunch amid one of the city’s rare green views.
