TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Foxconn is accelerating its push into robotics and aerospace as it diversifies beyond traditional electronics manufacturing.
At a closed-door investor conference on Monday, company insiders said Foxconn is developing humanoid robots with clients and plans to manufacture them, per UDN. The company is also expanding its collaboration with French aerospace giant Thales SA to build out its presence in the space sector.
According to investors citing Foxconn Spokesperson James Wu (巫俊毅), AI servers and electric vehicles are now positioned as the company’s second and third growth engines, complementing its core information and communications technology business.
Foxconn previously used humanoid robots on its production lines but is now shifting toward becoming a full-stack provider, combining hardware manufacturing with proprietary control software for factory automation, according to UDN.
In aerospace, Foxconn has already launched a low-Earth orbit satellite to support its development of autonomous driving technologies. That milestone marked its entry into the satellite market and laid the groundwork for deeper expansion into the sector.
Wu said the partnership with Thales began with advanced packaging solutions for Europe’s aerospace and defense needs. Thales is expected to increase its reliance on Foxconn’s manufacturing services, he added.
