TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Systex subsidiary Unixecure announced Monday it has secured exclusive Taiwan distribution rights for AuthenTrend’s fingerprint authentication products.
The two companies will jointly launch standardized biometric login systems to replace passwords, starting with fingerprint keys certified under the FIDO2 authentication protocol, per CNA.
Unixecure Chair Chan I-cheng (詹伊正) said the rise of quantum computing poses new risks to traditional login systems, per UDN. He argued that passwordless methods offer safer, scalable protection across platforms and will be integrated into CyberSecure’s broader cybersecurity portfolio.
AuthenTrend Chairman Li Hsin-hsin (李欣欣) said Taiwan’s demand for biometric login tools is growing rapidly, with the company aiming to equip at least 100 businesses with its systems within three years.
AuthenTrend CEO Huang Chi-feng (黃啓峰) noted that compromised passwords remain the leading cause of corporate data breaches, and that phishing-resistant logins—rather than relying solely on employee vigilance—are key to preventing attacks.
Unixecure operates three monitoring and operations centers across Taiwan. AuthenTrend, founded in 2016, is a Microsoft Entra ID partner and recently launched a battery-free fingerprint card as part of its expansion into Europe and Southeast Asia.
