TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Domestic flights in Taiwan posted a strong load factor of 77.8% in the first quarter, with the Taipei–Kinmen route leading the way with more than 320,000 passengers, according to Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) data released Tuesday.
From January to April, domestic routes carried 1,494,838 passengers, per CNA. The top three routes by passenger volume were Taipei–Kinmen (327,360), Kaohsiung–Penghu (232,662), and Taipei–Penghu (224,784).
The high passenger numbers reflect continued strong demand for travel to Taiwan’s offshore islands. To mark its 34th anniversary, Mandarin Airlines is offering a limited-time 34% discount on most domestic flights.
Tickets must be purchased through the airline’s app using a promo code, with the offer limited to the first 1,000 customers. The discount applies to weekday flights from Oct. 1, 2025, to Jan. 31, 2026, excluding the Kaohsiung–Matsu Nangan route.
In addition to Mandarin Airlines’ domestic promotions, VietJet is offering a large number of “zero-fare” tickets (excluding taxes and fees) across its entire flight network. Singapore Airlines has also launched discounts of up to 12% on flights to popular destinations within its global network.
