TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Hota Industrial announced Tuesday plans to enter the semiconductor testing market, aiming to augment its manufacturing business.
Speaking after a shareholders’ meeting, Hota Chair Shen Kuo-jung (沈國榮) said the company expects shipments to begin in the second quarter of 2026, per CNA. It aims to deliver 450 systems in 2026 and scale to 800–1,000 units the following year.
Shen noted that the semiconductor industry is booming under the influence of AI, creating huge demand for packaging and testing equipment, with strong growth expected for the next 30 years, per UDN. He said he believes AI still has a 20-year high-growth window.
Given global shortages in testing equipment capacity, Hota’s strengths in automation, mechanical systems, cooling integration, and assembly position it well for success, he explained.
Shen said Hota is leveraging six months of R&D and integration work to position itself as a top-tier testing equipment supplier. The company expects its chip testing equipment business to generate NT$1.8 billion (US$60.28 million) in revenue next year.
