TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Bafang Dumpling said Tuesday it will expand its US footprint with a planned Texas headquarters and new store openings this year.
The company said the new office, to be operational in the second half of the year, will anchor its expansion in the south-central US, per CNA. The Lone Star State’s large consumer base and influx of Taiwanese tech firms like TSMC and Foxconn are expected to drive demand for familiar brands, it added.
Bafang Dumpling is betting on the California and Texas markets to support overseas growth, per MoneyDJ. By positioning itself early, it said it hopes to benefit from clustering effects tied to the growing Taiwan business ecosystem.
As of May, Bafang Dumpling operated 1,371 stores worldwide, including 1,284 in Taiwan, 76 in Hong Kong, and 11 in the US. The company’s “streamline and strengthen” approach led to 77 new store openings last year, with a net gain of 13 after closures and consolidations.
Additionally, the company approved its 2024 financials, posting NT$8.03 billion (US$268.38 million) in consolidated revenue, up 9.37% from the previous year. Net profit attributable to the parent company reached NT$602 million, with earnings per share rising 8.38% to NT$9.05.
Bafang Dumpling Chair Lin Hsin-yi (林欣怡) credited the growth to a focus on everyday dining needs despite inflation, supply costs, and labor shortages. International expansion, particularly in the US, remains a central strategic focus, she added.
