TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Targeting the summer island travel market, Tigerair Taiwan is launching and resuming flights to popular destinations in South Korea and Japan.
The Taiwanese budget carrier announced Monday that it will launch new flights to Jeju Island by the end of June and resume service to Ishigaki Island in July, per CNA.
With these additions, its direct routes to Japan will increase to 23, and it will become the only Taiwanese airline offering direct flights to Jeju from northern, central and southern Taiwan.
The Kaohsiung–Jeju route is scheduled to begin June 30, operating four flights per week during the initial phase, while the Taichung–Jeju route will resume on July 1 with two flights per week.
The Taoyuan–Ishigaki service launches July 17 and will initially operate twice weekly.
To kick off these routes, Tigerair Taiwan is offering promotional fares: one-way base fares from Kaohsiung and Taichung to Jeju start at NT$500 (US$16, excluding taxes), and a special one-way fare from Taoyuan to Ishigaki starts at NT$1,599 (excluding taxes), available June 11–12.
