TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — New Taipei will host a job fair on Thursday with over 3,000 job vacancies.
The New Taipei Labor Affairs Department announced Tuesday that it will hold the "New Taipei City Job Fair" from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the auditorium on the 6th floor of city hall, per CNA. The department said that 55 well-known companies will participate in the event.
The job fair will focus heavily on the technology manufacturing sector. Companies like Xintec, Zoeller Taiwan, FineTek, Nan Ya Plastics, and TBI Motion are among the firms recruiting.
New Taipei Labor Affairs Department Director Chen Rui-jia (陳瑞嘉) said that as the graduation season draws to a close, the city is organizing this job fair to help new graduates transition into the workforce, following previous campus recruitment events. In response to the global AI wave, many companies are now factoring in AI-related skills and experience when hiring.
They are also flexibly adjusting their academic, experience, and major requirements to attract cross-disciplinary talent. Chen said this is a trend particularly noticeable in the technology manufacturing industry.
Chen said that nearly half of the participating companies are from the technology manufacturing sector, offering positions such as engineers, technicians, and sales specialists. Overall, the technology manufacturing and hospitality/food service industries are tied for the largest share, with each accounting for approximately 32% of the vacancies.
As for salaries, the department pointed out that chain pharmacies are offering monthly wages up to NT$75,000 (US$2,500) for licensed pharmacists. Some companies are also recruiting accounting supervisors with starting salaries of NT$60,000.
With the summer vacation approaching, over 600 part-time positions will also be available. The event welcomes recent graduates, job seekers, career changers, and those seeking part-time opportunities.
