TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The South Korean K-pop girl group Blackpink on Tuesday announced that Taiwan would be included in its world tour.
Blackpink revealed its world tour will run from July 5, 2025 to Jan. 25, 2026, with stops in North America, Europe, and Asia. They are slated to perform two shows in Kaohsiung on Oct. 18 and 19 at Kaohsiung National Stadium.
Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai (陳其邁) announced the concert on Facebook and pointed out it will be the group's second time performing in the city. Live Nation Taiwan, the organizer of the Taiwan leg of Blackpink's “Deadline” world tour, said that ticket sales for the general public will launch at 11 a.m. on June 12.
Blackpink was established by YG Entertainment in 2016 and consists of members Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa. The group was quickly catapulted to stardom with its hit single album "Square One" and by 2020 was labeled by Elle “the biggest girl group on the planet.”
Their first full album, titled "The Album," released in 2020, debuted at number two on the Billboard 200, setting the record for the highest first-week sales for a K-pop group's debut album and the biggest chart debut by an all-female group in over a decade. After two years without new material, the group released its second studio album "Born Pink" in September 2022, and its previous tour went by the same name.
This Deadline tour will be the group's fourth, and Thai member Lisa said a new group album is coming out soon. In an interview with Variety, she urged her fans to be patient and pledged, “It’s coming soon, I promise. It’s about time.”
The tour will start in Goyang, South Korea, with shows on July 5 and 6 and is currently scheduled to include 16 venues. This represents the group's third time performing in Taiwan, with the first being a concert in Taipei in 2019.
