TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Foxconn Chair Young Liu (劉揚偉) outlined the company’s latest AI and robotic initiatives at Computex on Tuesday.
Liu opened his speech with a sketch from Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) from Hon Hai Tech Day 2023. The scribbles depicted a factory powered by Nvidia’s AI tech.
He then revealed Genesis, which aims to create intelligent robots that think, not just see and move, per CNA. Powered by Nvidia’s Omniverse platform, the project trains next-generation robots through millions of digital simulations to perform factory tasks quickly and autonomously.

Liu explained Foxconn is deploying AI agents to absorb expert know-how in defect detection and equipment calibration. These agents can handle up to 80% of routine tasks, cutting production cycles by over 10% and allowing humans to focus on higher-level work.
He also noted the company’s push into future factories. With Nvidia tech, the Omniverse factory will be created first, its digital twin, and finally the physical factory.
Liu also mentioned an earlier announcement about the company’s partnership with Mitsubishi Motors, which will see Foxtron, Foxconn’s subsidiary, design EV reference models for the Japanese carmaker.
Moving on to smart cities, Liu explained that smart infrastructure does not work together, urging the need for a unified platform. Regarding productivity, Liu said generative AI cuts issue resolution in half, freeing up humans for high-value activities.

This is not just a technological upgrade, but a structural shift, he said. As GDP rises and fewer people accept low-wage jobs, AI and robotics will replace outsourcing and migrant labor.
Taking the audience by surprise, Jensen Huang appeared briefly, praising Foxconn’s technical prowess. He added that Nvidia has 350 partners in Taiwan and called it the “epicenter of the world’s computing industry.”
Computex drew a record-breaking 50,000 buyers from 129 countries, the highest number in the expo’s history, CNA reported. The tech show will feature 1,400 domestic and international tech companies across 4,800 booths and covering 80,000 square meters.
